The Great Lakes are no strangers to maritime disasters, but one of the most famous is the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Today marks the 36th anniversary of November 10, 1975, when she sank to the bottom of Lake Superior, taking all 29 people aboard with her. Gordon Lightfoot — one of my all time favourite artists — immortalized the tale of the ship with one of his most famous songs. To commemorate the tragic anniversary, here’s a kick-ass live version of ”The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald”, complete with some haunting footage of the ship.

His name is R. Lee Ermey, and he is single-handedly responsible for some of the most memorable quotes in cinematic history……none of which can be repeated on here. I always thought he was the toughest son-of-a-gun that ever roamed the Earth after watching Full Metal Jacket….and then I saw this:
