In 1986, Van Halen headlined the Texxas Jam at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Other acts on the bill included Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Loverboy, Dio & Krokus.

Also in 1986, Genesis reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for the first and only time with “Invisible Touch” which spent one week on top of the chart.

In 1980, The final World Series of Rock in Cleveland took place at Municipal Stadium. The bill included Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band, Eddie Money, The J. Geils Band & Def Leppard.

In 1976, Deep Purple split up for the first time. The group would later reunite in 1984 with the Mark II lineup.

In 1975, Aerosmith peaked at number thirty-six on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with “Sweet Emotion”; their first top forty hit.
