1990: Billy Idol was involved in a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles after he ran a stop sign. He suffered multiple broken bones.

1988: Bruce Springsteen had his 11th top ten single in the U.S. with “Tunnel of Love.”

1982: The J. Geils Band reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for the first and only time with “Centerfold. ” It stayed at the number 1 spot for 6 weeks.


1980: Dream Police by Cheap Trick was certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of one million copies.
