International Offshore Powerboat Races

Offshore powerboat racing is coming to the City of Port Huron!

In August, gear up for a weekend of wild water fun as Port Huron and Sarnia, Canada partner for the International Offshore Powerboat Race!

This inaugural event will bring to life boat enthusiasts, nautical devotees and cheering fans from all over the Blue Water Area and beyond!

Don’t miss the action on Saturday, August 10th as Time Trials begin and Sunday, August 11th when the Race takes over the St. Clair River.

Thursday- August 8 th , 2013
Boats begin arriving to Race Village

Friday- August 9 th , 2013
Noon – 4:00 p.m. OPA Racers Registration (405 Water Street, Next to wet pits)
2:00 p.m. Race Village Opens To Public
6:00 p.m. Opening Ceremonies- Desmond Landing (Main Stage)
7:00 – 8:00 p.m. OPA Racers Driver Meeting (405 Water Street, Next to wet pits)
Midnight Race Village Closes

Saturday – August 10 th , 2013
7:00 – 9:00 a.m. OPA Dunker/Swim Test – YMCA- Maybelle P. Kurzweil Aquatic Center,
1525 3rd Street, Port Huron, MI 48060
9:00 a.m. Drivers Mandatory Meeting (405 Water Street, Next to wet pits)
10:00 – 4:00 p.m. OPA Racers Registration (405 Water Street, Next to wet pits)
10:30 – 3:30 p.m. Race Control In Operation (Time Trials)
10:30 – 6:00 p.m. Crane In Operation
11:00 – 3:00 p.m. Testing (RULES OF THE ROAD IN EFFECT)
Noon Race Village Opens
4:30 p.m. * Canadian Autograph Session – Sarnia Bay Marina, Ontario
*See Note * ALL Drives MUST be listed on Manifest to attend!!
Departure will be from Desmond Marine. Event starts at 4:30 p.m., please arrive at Desmond by 4:00 p.m. for Border Patrol clearance.
8:00 p.m. U.S. Driver Meet & Greet/ Autograph Session

9:00 a.m. OPA Racers Driver Meeting (405 Water Street, Next to wet pits)

11:00 a.m. Crane In Operation
11:00 – 5:00 p.m. OPA Race Control In Operation
Noon Race Village Opens
12:00 p.m. Race Starts (Tentatively)
4:30 p.m. Awards Ceremony, Immediately Following Conclusion of Race
