Environment Canada issues a “Special Weather Statement” as a disturbance approaches from out west.       A low pressure system over Kansas is expected to track northeastward across the lower Great Lakes tonight.     Precipitation will begin over Southwestern Ontario early this evening as rain before changing to snow later this evening.      Current indications suggest that snowfall amounts in the 10 to 15 cm range  (4 to 6 inches) are likely within an 18 to 24 hour period.
Storm “watches or warnings” may be issued later today.
