Check Out This Amazing Indigenized Cover Of “Grace Too”
I’m honestly shaken by the recently discovered unmarked graves of 215 children at a former residential school in Kamloops, B.C. This is not something we can sweep under the rug. We must face it and recognize it for the crime against humanity that it is. The nation is in mourning. Flags across Canada are at half-mast, including Sarnia City Hall’s. Tiny shoes, flowers, and stuffed animals are being placed near the cenotaph at the Aamjinaang First Nation administration office on Tashmoo Avenue.
In the spirit of truth and reconciliation, I wanted to share this song with you. It’s a Tragically Hip cover by a band called “Twin Flames”. It’s an incredible indigenized take on a modern Canadian classic and proof that amazing things can happen when we merge and accept other cultures instead of trying to destroy and assimilate them. I hope you enjoy it!
